Odisha youth drowns while shooting ‘Reels’ with friends

In a tragic incident, a youth drowned in a water body while shooting reels along with his friends with mobile phones at Badasauli village under Tapanga Gram Panchayat in Khordha district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Ashutosh Behera, who was a resident of Salepur in Cuttack district.

As per reports, Ashutosh along with two girls and three boys had come to the area to shoot videos for various social media platforms. However, while filming the reels, a girl among them slipped and fell into the water. To rescue the girl, Ashutosh jumped into the water immediately. Though he managed to save the girl, he himself drowned in deep water.

Upon being informed, Khordha Fire Service personnel and police reached the spot and carried out a rescue operation. After a three-hour-long operation, the body of the youth was eventually fished out.

Khordha Police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. All the friends of the deceased have been detained by police and they are being questioned.
