Lack of motorable roads allegedly claimed the life of a woman who was suffering from post-delivery complications. The shocking incident was reported from Turuk village under Bandhugaon of Koraput district.

The deceased has been identified as Param Manding, wife of Satama Manding, a resident of Turuk village.

As per reports, seeing Param in labour pain, her family members contacted for an ambulance. But the ambulance couldn’t come to their village as it doesn’t have a motorable road. Subsequently, she gave birth to a baby boy in her house. However, after the delivery, she complained of severe abdominal pain. Later, she breathed her last.

Her family members blamed the lack of road communication for her death.

“When she complained of post-delivery pain, we contacted an ambulance but it didn’t turn up due to bad road conditions. We also couldn’t shift her,” said Gamuda Kadraka, a relative of the deceased.

No comments have been received from the district administration.
