Odisha government is gearing up to unveil its ambitious ‘Odisha Vision Document 2036’, outlining transformative goals for the State. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to launch the initiative on June 20, the document promises a roadmap for a developed Odisha (Bikashita Odisha).

According to sources, as part of the first anniversary celebrations of the Mohan Majhi government, Odisha will unveil its flagship development roadmap—Odisha Vision Document 2036—on June 20. The document, featuring 36 strategic proposals, aims to position the State on a transformative path toward becoming a $500 billion economy by 2036.

Odisha targets creation of 1 crore jobs

The official launch will be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aligning with the broader national vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat). The vision document includes key targets like empowering women and youth, improving healthcare and education, creating job opportunities, and preserving Odia Asmita (Odia Pride).

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) will oversee real-time monitoring of the implementation. Vision Cells will be established in every department, and progress reports will be submitted every month.

Additionally, external agencies will be appointed to monitor milestones and accountability.

The State government also plans a series of public outreach events: Nari Shakti Samabesh in Cuttack on June 13, Krushi Samabesh in Bolangir on June 17, Adivasi Samabesh in Baripada on June 18, and Yuba Samabesh in Berhampur on June 21.

A week-long campaign will be held across the State to create awareness and alignment with the goals of Bikashita Odisha.
The document envisions: 1 crore jobs by 2036, $500 billion economy by 2036, $1.5 trillion economy by 2047, participation of 70 percent of women in the workforce, Rs 100 lakh crore investments in the corporate sector, and 5 lakh job creations in the next 5 years.

The blueprint highlights strategies for inclusive growth, poverty alleviation, and ensuring quality education and healthcare.
All departments have been instructed by the Chief Secretary to prepare for execution. Odisha now watches keenly to see which of these ambitious proposals will lead its march toward becoming a developed State.

“The PM is scheduled to arrive (in Odisha) on June 20, and the biggest event of all will be conducted on the same day; however, finalisation of the event site is still underway. Unveiling of the vision document is a part of his itinerary. He is to interact with people from different sections of society. District-level programmes will also be carried out (across the State),” Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said to mediapersons.
