Odisha has topped the list of states in the country in the detection and registration of disproportionate assets (DA) cases.

As per the latest report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a total of 372 cases related to disproportionate assets were registered against corrupt officials in 2022 in the country out of which 85 of them were registered by the Odisha Vigilance Department alone. Odisha is followed by Karnataka with 56 DA cases and Bihar with 48 cases. 

Odisha was placed second in the country for awarding major punishments to convicted persons in Vigilance cases in 2022. Vigilance in Odisha convicted 124 persons involved in such cases. 

Similarly, the Odisha Vigilance was third among all the states in the country as far as registration of corruption cases (84) on the allegation of criminal misconduct (misappropriation of government funds). 

Besides, Odisha Vigilance has also charge-sheeted 551 accused persons in 321 corruption cases, acquiring third place in the country. 

Moreover, Odisha was ranked third in the country for taking proactive action like dismissal/removal of public servants from their service in 2022.
