Odisha vigilance seizes Rs 7.5 lakh 'ill-gotten' cash from Boipariguda IIC

The Vigilance officials caught the Inspector in-charge of Boipariguda police station in Koraput along with cash worth Rs 2.70 lakh on Monday. Later. cash worth Rs 1.8 lakh was recovered from his office chamber and Rs 3 lakh from his official quarters during a search operation, sources said.   

As per reports, Boipariguda IIC Sushant Kumar Satpathy was on his way to his house in Cuttack in a private bus. 

Acting on a tipoff, a team of Vigilance officials was waiting near Tankua near Jeypore. The sleuths seized cash worth Rs 2.7 lakh from the IIC and sought to know the sources of the cash. 

However, the police official failed to clarify about the cash. The IIC was detained.  An investigation into the matter has been started.
