Arrested tehsildar over DA
Odisha Vigilance arrested Bidyadhar Pati, Tehsildar of Remuna in Balasore district on Thursday over a disproportionate assets (DA) case. The arrest comes after the Odisha Vigilance conducted searches on his properties, uncovering assets that were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to the findings from the searches, Pati was found to be in possession of several high-value properties and assets. These include three high-value flats – two flats in Bhubaneswar, valued at approximately Rs. 2.5 Crore, and one flat in Balasore.
In addition to the flats, the investigation also revealed that Pati owned two plots, approximately 937 grams of gold, and deposits amounting to over Rs. 1.12 Crore. However, Pati was unable to satisfactorily explain the origins of these assets.

Following the investigation and discoveries, Pati has been placed under arrest by Odisha Vigilance. He will be forwarded to court today to face legal action for possession of disproportionate assets. The case has been registered under Vigilance Cell PS case No. 01/2025.
The investigation into the case is still ongoing. The authorities are continuing to examine Pati's assets and financial dealings to determine the full extent of the alleged corruption.
The arrest of a government official in such a case highlights Odisha Vigilance's ongoing efforts to curb corruption and ensure accountability within public service.
