Odisha Vigilance arrests Chhatrapur BEO, Rs 35 lakh deposits and Rs 6.5 lakh cash detected

The Vigilance officials on Sunday arrested Chhatrapur Block Education Officer (BEO) Sitaram Patro in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

The arrest came after the BEO was found in possession of disproportionate assets including three multi-storeyed buildings, deposits over Rs. 35.61 lakh, Rs. 6.50 lakhs cash, and 1 four-wheeler for which he could not give any satisfactory answer.

Following this, the BEO has been placed under arrest and will be forwarded to the Court today, the Vigilance said in a release.

Moreover, the Berhampur Vigilance has registered a case against the BEO and further investigation is currently underway.
