Odisha tribal model shines in Telugu movie, receives rousing welcome back home

An aspiring actress from Koraput and a tribal model, Suman Khila displayed her acting prowess in a recently released Telugu movie Mangalavaaram.

A resident of Semiliguda in Koraput, Khila received a rousing welcome upon her return home after finishing shoot which continued for six months.

“It is overwhelming for me. I never expected such a welcome at my village. I am humbled to see so much love and affection for me,” Khila said.

Suman completed her schooling at Semiliguda and pursued fashion designing and later modelling at NIFT.

“I had an inclination for modelling and acting since my school days. I am already working towards my entry in Hindi film industry. As far as Odia films are concerned, I will definitely do it if a good script is offered to me,” Khila said.

Speaking about her Odia heritage and youth talents in Koraput, she said, “I want to work for the youths of Koraput. In fact, I am already working for them. Promising talents from this area will definitely get a chance to work in future projects.”

Mangalavaaram is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language psychological mystery thriller film written and directed by Ajay Bhupathi. It was released on 17 November 2023 in five Indian languages.

It is produced by Swathi Reddy Gunupati, Suresh Varma M., and Ajay Bhupathi, under Mudhra Media Works and A Creative Works. The music was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.

The movie will also release on Disney + Hotstar OTT platform today.
