Odisha to have dedicated campus of National Forensic Science University

Cyber crimes no doubt have emerged as a major challenge for the state governments across the country. In a bid to tackle such issues, a campus of 'National Forensic Science University' will be established in Odisha.

A representative team of the National University met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan and discussed the matter on Friday.

As per Odisha government officials, there is a need for such an institution in the state in view of increasing cyber crime. The state government will reportedly provide all kinds of support to establish the campus. It will also be very helpful in creating skilled professionals in the field of crime investigation and crime prevention.

This will facilitate training of police officers in the state on cyber security and also help meet the requirement of scientific officers in the state. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said steps will subsequently be taken to develop it as a center of excellence.
