The women of a Self Help Group (SHG) at Betada under Bhadrak’s Basudevpur block made 5,000 National Flags in a single day ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday.

The women belong to Nageswar SHG registered under the Mission Shakti in Barandua Panchayat.

A member of the group, Minati behera said, “We have made 5200 National Flags for the people to hoist them on the Independence Day. I am so happy to be a part of the group which has made this possible.”

“We did not know whether we will be able to stitch the flags on time after we got the order. But we made that happen and we are proud of our achievement,” said Rashmita Sahoo, another member of the group.
