Odisha Deputy CM KV Singh Deo in Assembly
The new BJP-government in Odisha has been at the forefront and claims to be initiating measures for the development of agriculture and farmers in Odisha. The party has been accusing the previous BJD government for not taking any steps for setting up cold storages in the state.
Odisha Deputy CM KV Singh Deo on Wednesday informed that the state government is taking concrete measures to construct cold storages in 58 sub-divisions of the state. These facilities at the sub-division level are likely to benefit the farmers by reducing their post-harvest losses and increase the values of agricultural products, informed Singh Deo who also holds the portfolio of agriculture department as minister.
The Minister further informed in Odisha Assembly that the State government has decided to establish need-based cold storage on PPP mode in the State. Similarly, hybrid cold storages will be set up in the state, he added.
Earlier in the day, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra in the Assembly that over 1 lakh ghost ration card holders have been detected during e-KYC verification in the state.
