In a shocking turn of events, the body of an Assistant Section Officer (ASO) engaged at the Odisha Secretariat, was found hanging inside a house on Thursday. The deceased is said to be Mora Marandi and he was found hanging by his friend inside the house in the Acharya Vihar area where he was staying.
According to sources, Mora Marandi was appointed ASO in the Steel and Mines Department of the Odisha Government this year.
As per reports, when the family of the deceased couldn’t establish contact with him, they asked his friend for help. Subsequently, his friend went to the house and found him hanging. He immediately called the police after which the dead body was recovered and sent to the Capital Hospital.
The family and a colleague of the deceased ASO alleged that he was under immense pressure from a senior official. However, no written complaints were made against any official.
As per reports, the police are suspecting it to be a case of suicide due to work pressure. However, no statements were received from the police officials as the investigation is underway.
