In a significant development, all the schools in Odisha will revert to their regular schedules from tomorrow, informed School and Education Minister Nityananda Gond. Citing the improved weather conditions, the schools that were having morning classes due to the excess heatwave conditions will resume normal school activities from Monday.

“Given the rain and improved weather conditions in the state, there will be no problem for all government-aided and recognized private schools to resume their full normal timings,” the Education Minister told media persons.

Previously, the Odisha government had directed Collectors to adjust the school timings, from morning 6 AM-10AM as per the hot and humid weather conditions of their respective districts.

With this announcement, students can now anticipate a return to their usual school timings.

Meanwhile, Gond also emphasised his government’s wish to bring major reforms in the education system for the betterment of students.

“There is a need to bring reform in the Education system. Crucial steps will be taken from time to time. Like, Maths is an important subject, so our government is committed to bringing necessary changes so that every student is good at Maths. This time, we have organised training for teachers to teach Maths properly to the students. More such steps will be taken for the betterment of students,” Gond said.
