Sanjukta Sethi receives National Florence Nightingale Award
In a proud moment for Odisha, Sanjukta Sethi has been conferred with the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award. Sanjukta is posted as nursing officer at Malkangiri district headquarters hospital. Sanjukta received the National Florence Nightingale Award from President Droupadi Murmu at a special function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
A total of 15 nurses from different parts of the country were conferred the award in recognition of their outstanding commitment to duty and service to the community.
The National Florence Nightingale Award was instituted by the Government of India in the year 1973 as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
A total of 15 awards are given in the category of Registered Auxiliary Nurses & Midwife, Registered Nurses and Midwife and Registered Lady Visitor. Each award consists of a Certificate of Merit, Cash Award of Rs.1,00,000 and a medal.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi congratulated Sanjukta for winning the award. “Your dedication, determination and public service is the best example of women empowerment,” tweeted CM Mohan Majhi.
