Odisha revises mid-day meal cost by Re 1

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday increased the mid-day meal price by Re 1. 

The Chief Minister announced this while speaking at a state-level children’s festival ‘Suravi’, organised on the premises of Capital High School in Bhubaneswar. 

After the hike, MDM expenditures for primary students and upper primary students have increased to Rs 5.90 and Rs 8.82 respectively. 

Currently, a total of 43 lakh students studying in classes from Class I to Class VIII are receiving mid-day meals.

With an aim to provide better quality and nutritious foods to the students, the government has increased the mid-day meal prices.
