Odisha revenue employees’ association protest enters 10th day, public services affected
The ongoing agitation by the revenue employees’ association in Odisha entered its tenth day on Wednesday, with officials remaining firm on their demands despite repeated warnings from the government.
The association has been staging a dharna pressing for a 10-point charter of demands, including revision of basic pay, provision of health insurance, and other service-related benefits. The members said they had repeatedly apprised the state government of their concerns but received no concrete assurance.
Despite Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari’s warning of ‘no work, no pay’ if employees failed to resume duty immediately, officials remain steadfast in their protest.
The strike has severely impacted public services across the state. Issuance of income certificates, land and house patta, legal heir certificates, and other revenue-related works have come to a standstill, sources said.
Over 10,000 officials serve in various government offices across Odisha, with more than 600 revenue staff working in Ganjam district alone.
With the stir showing no signs of ending, citizens dependent on essential revenue services continue to bear the brunt of the deadlock. The association has made it clear that the protest will continue until all 10 demands are accepted by the government.
