There seems to be no let up in the overall Covid-19 situation as Odisha reported 204 fresh cases of infections in the past 24 hours. Of the total 204 new Covid-19 cases, Sundargarh district reported highest 96 cases in the past 24 hours.

As per the information shared by the Odisha government, Cuttack district reported 25 new cases of Covid-19 infections, followed by 24 in Nabarangpur and 11 new cases from Khordha district. As many as 14 districts in the state reported Covid-19 cases in single digits.

Official sources said Odisha had conducted 5824 tests including 2370 RT-PCR tests in the past 24 hours.

On Friday, Odisha had reported 258 fresh infections from 6,279 samples that had come for tests from different parts of the state.

It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha like other states in the country is witnessing a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. The State government had recently requested the Centre to provide at least 50,000 doses of CorBEvax vaccine with long expiry as early as possible.
