Odisha Police constable found hanging at official quarters in Bhadrak

A constable posted at Tihidi police station was found dead at his official quarters in Bhadrak district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Toofan Patra of Keonjhar district. Patra's body was found hanging in the official quarters. It is suspected that he ended his life by hanging himself with the help of a saree last night.

Though the exact reason behind Patra resorting to such an extreme step is unclear, his family members suspect that he might have taken the step due to the ongoing disturbances with his wife or work pressure at the police station.

 "We suspect that there could be some pressure from his wife or IIC of Tihidi police station. My son used to consume alcohol and might have ended his life after having some quarrel with his wife. I received information from the officer-in-charge," said the father of the deceased constable.

Meanwhile, no comments could be obtained from the senior police officials in connection with the incident. Patra's body has been sent for autopsy and further investigation is underway.
