In a bid to make Plus-Two Science stream students competent to face NEET and JEE, the Odisha government has decided to impart coaching to them free of cost. 

The coaching will be imparted to the aspirants in virtual mode. The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education has directed the Plus-II Colleges in the state to install smart TV sets and interactive panels for the purpose.

As per reports, the Director of the Higher Secondary Education, Raghuram R Iyer issued a letter on November 2 to all principals of the government, non-government, and aided secondary schools to make necessary arrangements for the installation of smart TVs or interactive panels in their schools.

In the letter, Raghuram stated, “It has been decided to provide supplementary online coaching to NEET/ JEE aspirants pursuing their studies in the government, non-government and aided higher secondary schools for enhancement of their competitive ability.”

The letter stated, as the mode of deliberation will be purely virtual, a smart classroom with an interactive panel/ a smart TV is a primary requirement at the HSS level. Many higher secondary schools have received assistance for smart classes under CM-SA from the Planning and Coordination department. 

In case any higher secondary school has not received funds, they are allowed to utilise available funds from the SAMS account/ HSS development fund as per the existing Finance department guidelines, the letter said.
