Polsara MLA Srikant Sahu
MLA Srikant Sahu from Polasara constituency in Ganjam district has lodged a police complaint alleging that a conspiracy has been hatched to eliminate him and his daughter. Sahu, 50, lodged the complaint with Polasara police after a purported chat related to the murder plot went viral on social media.
The lawmaker accused a man identified as Bikash Behera and Sanjukta Mahal of conspiring to kill him.
“Daya kari mo katha mana friend mu Srikanta mariba pain chahunchi mo bhauniki se mariachi ok mam apna mate tike sahajya kale mu bi taku maribi, ta jhia sum hospital re achi taku bi maribi ok mam apna mate tike help karantu (Please try to understand me friend; I want to kill Srikanta, he has killed my sister; Ma’am if you help me I will kill him. His daughter is in SUM Hospital, I will kill herself also, so please help me),” reads the chat in Odia.
Replying to the chat, Sanjukta Mahal has written, “Call me.”
In his FIR, Srikant has accused Bikash and Sanjukta of plotting to kill him and his daughter and sought their immediate arrest. He also claimed that both Bikash and Sanjukta should be held responsible if anything happens to him or any of his family members.
On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered under Sections 506, 507 and 120-B of IPC.
On the other hand, Sanjukta Mahal has accused Srikant Sahu of framing her in false case. She further alleged that the lawmaker intentionally made the fake account using the name of Bikash Behera.
“I don’t know any Bikash Behera. I had a chat with him a long time ago. My only mistake is that I had given him my phone number, but he has never contacted me,” Sanjukta claimed.
“This is a conspiracy by the MLA himself. He has made the fake account in the name of Bikash Behera and lured me. He is doing all this to implicate me in a false case. I had given a written complaint against him, but no steps have been taken against him,” she further added.
