Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra
Agar police chahe to koi mandir ke samne se ek chappal tak nahi chura sakta. Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Monday delivered this dialogue from Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham to thunderous applause.
Uttering the dialogue at a meeting of the supply assistants, Minister Patra asked them to be vigilant in checking corruption in mandis across the state.
“You must have seen Singham's film. There Ajay Devgn said ‘agar police chahega to mandir se ek bhi chappl chori ho nahin sakta’. Similarly, I would like to tell you ‘agar aap chahenge to mandi main ek bhi bhrastchari bach nahin payega’,” he said.

He also told them about the ‘Bhisma Sarasajya’ episode from the Mahabharat, where Bhisma was lying on a bed of arrows. He said Krishna told Bhisma that even if he hadn’t done anything wrong he was suffering because he had seen Draupadi being disrobed. Similarly, action would be taken against wrongdoers, those who are abetting them and those who are just standing by.
“Wherever I am going I am telling one thing that the working style of the previous government was totally different, they were resorting to loot and corruption. I have already studied the department thoroughly during these four months. I have the details like who was misappropriating and where it was being carried out. I have warned all of you that not only the thieves but also their associates will be taken to task,” he added.
