As the annual High School Certificate exam or Matric exam 2024 continues, class 10 students appear today to write the Mathematics paper in all the exam centres across the State.

As per the provision made by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha, the students entered the exam hall at 7:30 am. The Board expects to conduct the third day of the all important examination without any hiccups like the first two days.

As per reports, the BSE has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered CCTV cameras to keep an eye on all the exam centres and nodal centres to ensure the conduct of the Matric exams this year in a fair and disciplined manner.

However, despite elaborate arrangements made by the Board for the smooth conduct of the examination, a purported question paper of English examination was allegedly leaked and went viral on social media.

Later, the Board denied any leaks in the question paper whatsoever. BSE vice-president Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said, "There is no question paper leaks in the Matric exam yet. The viral question paper is done by some miscreants to mislead the people and the Board. It has been 24 hours since the English exams, and we have not received any complaint about the leak."

Detection by AI powered CCTV cameras during Odisha Matric Exam

Meanwhile, the AI-powered, CCTV cameras continued to detect irregularities in the conduct of the examination in several exam centres across the State.

In some centres the students were seen roaming inside the hall and talking with each other in the presence of the invigilator. And in some centres, the question papers were opened earlier.

As per reports, 42 students were booked for malpractice in the first two days of the exam.

On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha has come down heavily on the Odisha government and demanded the resignation of the School and Mass Education Minister on Saturday.

The BJP Yuva Morcha warned of agitation near the minister’s residence if the latter does not resign. It alleged the question paper leak is a deep-rooted conspiracy of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and a racket of the ruling party is behind such lapses.
