Man who kept school under seize with bow and arrows for 5 days nabbed by police
A man who had kept a school under seize in Sundargarh for the last five days and unleashed terror in the region by brandishing bows and arrows and slingshots was eventually nabbed by a joint team of police, fire service and District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel on Wednesday.
The nabbed man has been identified as Sudan Munda who had taken over Badajala School under the Bonai area in the district.
The joint team of security personnel managed to nab Munda by using a steel door as their shield. He was taken to Mahulapada Police Station.
As per reports, Munda wrote a letter of 8 pages demanding Rs 100 crore.
On Tuesday, the Inspector-in-charge of Mahulapada police station sustained injuries after he was shot at by the accused man with an arrow. Two other police personnel and the headmaster of the school also sustained critical injuries in the attack by Munda.
The school was not functioning from its own building as the man had seized the entire building and was attacking people with arrows and slingshots.
The students were also in a state of panic after the man took over the school on Saturday. The man took away the school ration including rice and was preparing meals for himself.
Following the incident, a team of police, fire services and DVF camped at the spot and managed to nab the man.
