Odisha man kills wife over suspected 'extra-marital affair'

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly murdered his wife and dumped her body under a bridge, packed inside a sack at Joda village under Gurundia block in Sundargarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Jayanti Kujur, an Anganwadi worker in the village. Her husband, Laxman Oram, is accused of committing the murder. 

Following the crime, Laxman reportedly surrendered at the local police station.

Initial investigations suggest that an extramarital affair may have been the motive behind the murder.

According to police sources, Laxman has confessed to the killing. Meanwhile, search operations are underway to recover the body from the nearby river.

Earlier last year, a 25-year-old man and his friend were arrested in Ganjam for allegedly killing his wife over an extra-marital affair. 

The incident happened at Badagada area under Sheragada police station on October 17.Those arrested were identified as Pintu Naik and his friend Partha Naik (22).

Pintu allegedly killed his wife Jhumuri (24) by hitting her repeatedly with sharp stones tied to a string, and then dumped her body in a forest. The decomposed body was found on October 26.
