Odisha man 'kicks pregnant wife to death,' detained by police

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly kicked his pregnant wife to death in Balasore. The deceased has been identified as Kalyani Mishra, a resident of Balasore.

As per reports, the family members of Kalyani, a mother of two kids, alleged that her husband used to torture her physically and mentally. They have filed a complaint in this regard at the Town police station. 

Kishore Chandra Mishra, brother of the deceased, alleged that his sister’s husband tortured her and did not feed her properly. “Whenever she was sick, he did not take her to hospital. He also poured hot oil mixed with garlic into her nose. We demand justice and stern punishment for the accused,” he alleged.

Karmabira Senapati, the accused husband said, "My wife was normal yesterday, but all of a sudden she fainted. I don’t know what happened to her. Then, I rushed her to a hospital in Soro. She was administered saline and referred to the district headquarters hospital in Balasore. However, a doctor declared her dead on arrival.” 

Acting on the complaint, police detained the accused and interrogated him.
