The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence from September 22.

As per the notification released on Thursday, the session will continue till October 4, with eight working days. On the first day of the session, the First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for the year, 2023-24 will be presented. Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha will table the Supplementary Budget on October 3. 

Here is the Provisional Calendar of Odisha Legislative Assembly:

September 22: Official Business and presentation of First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for the year, 2023-24.

September 23 & 24: No meeting days

September 25, 26 & 27: Official business 

September 28: Demands for Grants 

September 29: Holiday (Birthday of Prophet Mohammed) 

September 30: Demands for Grants 

October 1: No meeting day 

October 2: Holiday (Gandhi Jayanti)

October 3: Appropriation Bill on the Supplementary Budget for the year 2023-24

October 4: Private members’ business (Bills and Resolutions) 

Prior to the Monsoon Session, the Odisha Legislative Assembly’s new Speaker is likely to be elected since the post has been lying vacant since Bikram Keshari Arukha resigned from the Speaker’s post citing personal reasons.
