Odisha lady assistant collector found dead in park, family cries murder

The family members of a woman assistant collector, whose body was found under mysterious circumstances in Rourkela of Sundargarh district, alleged that she has been murdered.

The body of Susmita Minj was found under mysterious circumstances at Centurion Park in Rourkela on Tuesday evening. She was working at Rourkela Assistant Collector’s office.

As per the allegation by the deceased’s mother, Susmita was tense about her work for some days and the senior authorities including the Collector were putting huge pressure on her regarding the office work.

“Susmita came to duty on Saturday. However, she didn’t return home. We lodged a missing complaint at the police station on Sunday. Then her body was found at a park on Tuesday evening. We feel she has been mentally tortured at work workplace which could be the reason behind her death,” said Susmita’s mother Selevstin Minj.

“We can’t get back our daughter. But now we want justice,” she added.

However, no comments on the allegations could be obtained either from Rourkela Assistant Collector’s office or the police.
