Aggrieved family members of a migrant labourer from Odisha who died in Tamil Nadu sought assistance from the administration to bring the body back to their native place in Srirampur village under Balipatna Police limits of Khordha district.

According to the family members, Litas Bhoi of Srirampur village was working as a labourer at a company in Tamil Nadu for the last eight years. On Monday, his family members received a phone call from Tamil Nadu, informing them about his death.

The company authorities had told them that they would send the body to Odisha. Later, they said they couldn’t send the body as a bandh was being observed for three days.

The grief-stricken family members requested the district administration to take steps to bring back the body.

“I wish to see my son’s face for the last time. I would like to request the Chief Minister, the 5T secretary, ministers, MLAs and district administration to bring his body back,”  said Arta Bhoi, the father of the deceased.
