Odisha hikes monthly pension of these beneficiaries to Rs 3,500; check key details

The Odisha government has announced an enhanced monthly pension of Rs 3,500 for eligible beneficiaries aged 80 years and above, as well as for persons with disabilities having 80% or more disability.

As per the notification issued by the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD), this enhancement will be effective retrospectively from January 2025.

All District Social Security Officers (DSSOs) have been instructed to ensure the implementation of the enhanced pension from June 2025.

The directive emphasises that the sanctioned pension must be granted based on the updated beneficiary list submitted by Sub-Collectors (Annexure-A).

The SSEPD has asked all relevant authorities to forward sanction orders promptly for further action, marking a significant step toward improving the quality of life for the state's most vulnerable citizens.
