Continuing its salary hike spree ahead of the 2024 general elections, the Odisha government increased the minimum wage on Thursday.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the announcement in this regard today.

Four categories, namely unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers will be benefited by this announcement.

The wages of unskilled labourers have been increased from Rs 352 to Rs 450. For semi-skilled workers, the wage has been increased from Rs 392 to Rs 500.

For skilled workers, the wage has been hiked from Rs 442 to Rs 550 and for highly skilled workers, the wage will be Rs 600 in place of Rs 550.

This decision by the government is expected to benefit lakhs of workers working in the government and private sector of the state.
