Outgoing Governor, Professor Ganeshi Lal on Thursday said he can never forget Odisha stating that the State and its culture have enriched his knowledge and wisdom.

Lal said this at a farewell meeting organised at Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening which was also attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

“You guys are so fortunate to stay near Lord Jagannath all the time. Odisha has enriched my knowledge. And I can say this with conviction that in the times to come, this conflicting world will vanish and there will be an erection of elegant edifice, a city of mankind (Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam). If there is any place which can act as the foundation of this ‘city’, then it will be Odisha state,” he said while speaking to reporters.

Notably, the tenure of Prof. Ganeshi Lal ended on May 29 this year. Later his term was extended. He had taken oath as the Governor of Odisha on May 29, 2018.

On the other hand, newly-appointed Governor Raghubar Das is likely to take the oath of office on October 31.

Das while speaking to journalists yesterday said the constitutional responsibility given to him is a huge one, and he would discharge it with utmost sincerity.
