The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) will issue guidelines for government school students and their parents on cyber security.

The guidelines will be issued on this year’s first parent-teacher meeting (PTM) scheduled to be held at all government and government-aided higher secondary schools on April 21.

The decision on cyber security has been taken keeping an eye on the students’ increasing fondness for mobile phones.

Anupam Saha, State Project Director of OSEPA said, “Our prime agenda this year will be cyber security as it has emerged as a big challenge. More than the children, parents need to be aware of this threat so that they can guide their children properly.”

is necessary for parents to keep a tab on the content their children are consuming on the internet. They should teach their wards what is good and what is bad content,” Saha added.

The parents will be made aware of the academic programmes taken up by the schools to improve the performance of students.

The teachers will also provide feedback on each child so that parents know the kind of help and support their child needs to improve academically.
