The Odisha government will hold a two-day-long investors’ conference and roadshow in Mumbai on October 18 and 19.
After Delhi, the state government with an aim to bring in investments to the state is holding such a programme in Mumbai where the government will discuss with the prospective investors.
Informing about the programme, Odisha Industry Minister Sampad Swain said, “Our department is organizing a two-day conference in Mumbai commencing on October 18. Our Chief Minister will attend India Chem, a programme to be organised by the central government on October 18. The top chemical industries of our country will participate. Chances are high that such industries may come to Paradip, Gopalpur and Dhamra.”
“On October 19, the heads of over 300 industries including garment, apparel, textile and renewable energy will participate in a programme. There will be a roadshow as well. This apart, financial institutions and banking sectors have also been invited there to discuss how the financial institutions will achieve significant growth,” he added.
Regarding the establishment of a mega steel plant in Keonjhar district, he said a task force under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary has been formed to speed up the process.
“Acting on the Chief Minister’s direction, for the setting up a mega steel plant in Keonjhar, a task force under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary has been formed. It has been directed to earmark two locations for the proposed steel plant. Meanwhile, discussions with mega players in the steel sector are underway. The previous government had announced a mega steel plant. But on the ground, nothing happened. But under this government, a mega steel plant will definitely come up in Keonjhar district,” he said.
