“The Government has been seriously considering this issue and a cow slaughter prevention bill will be introduced, which will include a ban on illegal transportation of the cattle. The State government will not hesitate to introduce stringent laws in this regard,” Law Minister Harichandan stated.

However, the modalities have not been finalised yet and it will be better to debate on the issue after the modalities are finalised, the Minister expressed when asked by referring to the Assam government’s measure.
