Odisha govt sanctions fund to write PM Poshan info on school walls

The Odisha School and Mass Education department has directed to write seven important information about Pradhan Mantri Poshan scheme including information on the mid-day-meal on the walls of all the primary and upper-primary schools in the State.

The department has sanctioned Rs 5000 to each school for the same.

In a letter to all the District Education Officers (DEO), the department said, “It has been observed during school visits by senior officers of this Department that in view of the 5T transformation of high schools, and wear and tear during the last few years, the previous wall paintings related to PM POSHAN are either faded or have been omitted. Therefore, government has been pleased to sanction Rs 5000 for each primary/ Upper Primary school for wall painting of important information pertaining to PM POSHAN.”

The department requested the DEOs to issue instructions to all the headmasters/ headmistress to paint the seven important PM POSHAN information on the school walls in a conspicuous place for public view. This initiative aims to ensure active community participation, and effective implementation of the programme in a transparent way.

The instructions to be displayed permanently are:

1-PM POSHAN Logo

2- Weekly Menu

3- Children Entitlement

4- MDM Pancha Niyam

5- Student Helpline Number

6- Emergency Numbers, Hospital & Ambulance Number, Fire Station Number, Police Station Number

7- RWSSA/ PHD Number

If the school already has the above PM POSHAN-related information wall painted on its premises, then the allocated funds can be utilized for either minor repairs of the kitchen shed or whitewashing of the kitchen sheds.
