Odisha govt’s job fair in September

The newly formed BJP government will soon fulfil its promise made in the ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto) by holding a mega job fair or Nikujkti mela in September.

An action plan has been chalked out to hand over 35,000 appointment letters. Soon notification will be issued for filling up the vacant posts in various departments. Sources said that there are plans to hand over 22,000 appointment letters by next month.

At present, there are around 1,32,459 vacancies against the sanctioned strength of 2,99, 666. An Empowered Committee headed by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has 92,203 posts and out of that requisitions have been sent to different recruiting agencies for conducting the recruitment process for 78,919 posts.

Official sources said directions have been issued for obtaining approval of the Empowered Committee for the remaining balance vacancies by September. The recruitment agencies have been asked to publish the advertisements within December 2024.
