In a scathing attack on the Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that governance in Odisha is now under the bureaucracy mafia.

Addressing a press conference, BJP spokesperson, Satyabrata Panda said, “The Naveen Patnaik government has been under the grip of many kinds of mafias, from land mafia to mine mafia and liquor mafia over the last 23 years. However, nowadays it is getting clear that the government is also under the rule of bureaucracy mafia as well.”

In a bid to prove his point, Panda went on to release a purported audio clip of Mission Shakti Secretary, Sujata R Pandian where she allegedly used some unparliamentary terms against the department officials.

“The Private Secretary is paying visits to every district and feeding gullible people with fake promises of development. He has been seen sharing the stage with many people accused of amassing disproportionate assets and murder,” said Panda.

“While the 5T secretary is roaming in Odisha to hear grievances of the public on behalf of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister’s grievance cell has been shut for the public and has turned into a clubhouse of the ruling party,” Panda alleged.

Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja alleged that the 5T Secretary is not going for grievance hearings rather he is going to organise political meetings.

Saluja questioned when grievance hearings are being conducted at the block and district level by the administration, what extra the 5T Secretary is doing?
