In a commendable achievement, Arunima Thakur of Rourkela in Odisha secured the top rank (AIR-1) at the All-India level of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)-2025 PG examination, the results of which were declared recently.
Arunima Thakur clinched the top rank with a percentile score of 99.993, becoming the highest scorer in India among about 15,000 students who undertook the CLAT 2025 PG examination.
Bringing this major glory to the state, however, was not an easy feat as the topper went through rigorous and dedicated preparations for the exam.

A resident of Sector-18 in Rourkela, Thakur stated that for the past year, she spent hours reading additional books beyond the syllabus to master legal studies and aptitude skills.
“I focused especially on developing my reading skills by reading newspapers and judgments for the entire year. All of it yielded results as I was able to read and understand the lengthy question paper pretty easily,” said Arunima Thakur on her method of preparation.
She also added that the question paper for the CLAT examinations usually tends to be very lengthy with about 24 passages spread across 44 pages. As such, strong reading and assessment skills enable a candidate to swiftly read through and answer the paper within the 2-hour duration.

After this feat, the Rourkela girl added that she aimed to pursue legal studies and contribute to strengthening the legal system in the country through her efforts.
