Odisha engineering student goes missing in Brahmani River

An engineering student went missing while taking a bath in the Brahmani River in Dhenkanal on Thursday. 

As per reports, the missing youth is a student of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang. He has been identified as Sanat Kumar Mahalik from Balasore. He is pursuing B.Tech from the engineering college.  

As per sources, the student had gone into the river to take a bath. It is suspected that for a lack of caution, his legs slipped and he was swept away by the water current. 

On being informed, Fire Services personnel immediately rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. 

The student was untradeable and the search operation was underway till the time of filing of this report. 

However, no comments were received either from the college authorities or the kin of the student.
