Here is an inspiring story of a young divyang person who has set an example for other such persons who hardly do anything but curse their fates for their current conditions.

Like any other parents, the parents of Ashrumochan Nayak of Ambapada village under Gondia block in Dhenkanal district were also exalted when they were blessed with a son and distributed sweets. However, when they were told that their son is a differently-abled child, they felt the earth from under their feet was crumbling into pieces.

But with the passage of time, Asrumochan, who is fondly called ‘Jaga’ for his deformity, grew stronger from the inside. The saying ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going’ goes perfectly for him. Backed by a strong determination, he set a goal of becoming a doctor. The family members too left no stone unturned to fulfill his aim.

He did his studies online. Not only that, after cracking NEET, he has enrolled at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital. He wishes to be one of the best cardiologists in India.

“I used to read 10 to 12 hours a day. Because I knew we can’t achieve success without hard work.  From my childhood days, I had set my goal to be a doctor and offer free treatment to the poor,” said Ashrumochan, while exuding a sense of confidence.

Now, the family members feel proud of Ashrumochan.

“He studies hard since his childhood days. When he cracked NEET, our happiness knew no bounds. We all are happy that his dream of a doctor is going to be fulfilled,” said Biranjani Nayak, Ashrumochan’s mother.

Echoing the same, his sister Sushree Bishnupriya Nayak said, “To become a doctor and offer free treatment to patients have been his childhood dreams. We are happy for his achievement.”
