Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores of Rupees linked to the Rayagada divisional forest officer (DFO).

Officials carried out simultaneous raids on the properties of DFO Bijay Kumar Parida at seven locations in four districts including Rayagada and Khordha. Eight DSPs, six inspectors, and other staff were part of the raids.

Assets worth crores including one G+3-storeyed building of 9,500 sqft area in Cuttack with approx valuation of Rs 1.8 crores; 1 triple-storeyed building & 1 flat in Bhubaneswar; 16 plots in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & other towns, cash Rs 1.24 lakh, gold jewellery weighing approx 650 gms, etc were unearthed during the house search.

Details of DFO’s property found by vigilance:

1) G+3 storeyed building (under construction) located over Khata No-200/391, Plot No-16/708 at Srikoruan. Cuttack with plinth area of 9,500 Sqft. worth approx Rs 1.8 Crore.

2) A three storeyed building at Palasuni in Bhubaneswar with a plinth area of 511 squarefeet.

3) Flat at Ashirbad Plaza, Kalarahanga, Patia, Bhubaneswar.

4) 16 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack and Jajpur. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above flat/ buildings/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

5) Bank, Postal, Insurance and other deposits are being ascertained.

6) Cash Rs 1,24,600

7) Gold jewellery weighing approx 650 gms.

8) 1 four wheeler (Maruti Swift Dzire) and 2 two-wheelers and household articles worth over Rs.17.87 Lakhs.

Parida is being examined to ascertain the source of the assets. Further searches are continuing. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase.
