The state unit of the Congress will convene a preparatory committee meeting on December 28, the foundation day of the grand old party.

In the run-up to the general elections, this meeting is widely viewed as significant as the party may discuss important factors to make its mission of winning 90 Assembly seats (Mission 90) in Odisha a success. In this meeting, the top leaders will hold discussions with district and block presidents.

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Chief, Sarat Pattanayak on Tuesday addressed a press conference and exuded confidence that the Congress will form the government in Odisha as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) are united.

He also informed that top leaders such as party president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will visit Odisha in January 2024.

“I have already said and reiterating again today that our Mission 90 will be successful and our party will have the blessings of the Odisha people. The people of Odisha can’t forget what the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) have done for the state. While 2,27,000 posts are lying vacant, our youths are unemployed,” he said.
