CM Mohan Majhi offering floral tributes
A state-level celebration marking Utkal Dibas took place in Satyabhamapur village in Cuttack district, organised by the Odisha government on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the event and paid floral tributes to the statue of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, upon his arrival there. Following this, the CM visited Madhu Babu’s residence and viewed historical photographs displayed on the walls.
State unit Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Manmohan Samal also paid respects to Madhubabu’s statue at Raj Bhavan Square. He said, “This auspicious day serves as a day of inspiration, enthusiasm, self-respect, morality, and pride for everyone.”
The Odisha BJP chief highlighted the historical significance of this day, marking the formation of Odisha (erstwhile Orissa) province, and stressed that the goal is the comprehensive development of the State, and taking pride in its unity, commitment, and Odia identity (Odia Asmita) as well.
“The State was accorded a separate status nearly 89 years ago, based on its language. We all should vow to work together towards achieving progress of the State,” Samal added.
Similarly, a significant event unfolded at Shankha Bhavan (BJD headquarters) to mark Utkal Dibas, an occasion celebrating the formation of the State. BJD supremo and the Leader of Opposition (LoP), Naveen Patnaik attended the event.
Patnaik took the opportunity to commend the contributions and sacrifices of prominent figures and freedom fighters, those who played a crucial role in the formation of the State. These luminaries have been pivotal in shaping Odisha’s historic and cultural landscape, and Patnaik’s acknowledgment highlighted their enduring legacy.
“Today is Odisha Dibas (Utkal Dibas). It is a day of pride and glory for all of us. Greetings to you (all his party men) on this occasion,” the BJD chief expressed.
