DS Kutey
The centre has appointed Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey, an Odisha cadre IPS officer, as the Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF).
The Under Secretary to the Government of India informed to the Chief Secretary of the Government of Odisha in a letter.
As per the letter, Kutey, a 1997 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as Inspector General (Level-14 in the Pay Matrix) in the Border Security Force for a period up to the date of his superannuation on February 29, 2028 or until further order, whichever is earlier.
“I am directed to convey approval of the competent authority for appointment of Shri Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey, IPS (OD:1997) as Inspector General (Level-14 in the Pay Matrix) in Border Security Force (BSF) from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 29.02.2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” read the letter.
“It is, therefore, requested that Shri Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey, IPS (OD:1997) may be relieved immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre,” it added.
IPS officer DS Kutey’s appointment came in the wake of another Odisha-cadre IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh being appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
According to a letter issued by the Union Home Ministry to Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Ahuja, the senior IPS officer (Ashish Kumar Singh) will remain in the post for a period of five years from the date of assumption of the charge or until further orders.
