Bhatli MLA Susanta Singh on Wednesday broke his silence amid reports of resentment among his supporters after he was denied a ministerial berth in the recent Odisha Cabinet reshuffle.

Singh today categorically stated that he was not in the race for the post of a minister in the state cabinet. Singh’s statements came after his meetings with BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday and BJD organisation secretary Pranab Prakash Das today.

“Our focus is on western Odisha and I had earlier held discussions with CM that I was not in the minister's race. The reports in media are completely baseless,” said Singh.

Singh admitted that there was resentment among his supporters, but he has already pacified them.

“My supporters might have made such statements out of emotion. I have been instructed by the CM to look after nine districts in western Odisha,” Singh said.
