The Odisha cabinet meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal to provide one-time livelihood assistance of Rs 1000 to each of the 95,90,526 PDS families. The state cabinet also approved the proposal to provide two jute carry bags of 20-kilogram and 10-kilogram capacity to each of the PDS families. 

The fund requirement for procurement and distribution of 1,91,81,052 numbers of jute carry bags will come to Rs 278.69 crore and for one-time livelihood assistance of Rs 1000 to PDS families will come to Rs 959.05 crore, totalling to Rs 1,237.74 crore, which will be borne out of the state budget, the press note mentioned.

Moreover, the state cabinet approved the proposal of providing an interest-free loan of Rs 1 lakh to unemployed rural and urban youths.

The state cabinet also approved the proposal of exemption of premium of Rs 2,70,40,000 for the lease of Plot No 63 at Madhusudan Nagar, Unit 4 in Bhubaneswar in favour of Reserve Police Line Masjid; and Rs 3,70,50,000 used for commercial purpose of the land allotted in favour of Capital Mosque Committee at Unit IV, Bhouma Nagar in Bhubaneswar. 

The proposal of exempting the premium of Rs 5,06,00,000 for the lease of Plot No-457 (p) in favour of Meher (Bhulia) Samaj for the construction of Swabhaba Kabi Gangadhar Meher Bhawan at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar has also been approved. 

The proposals of exempting premiums of Rs 5,06,00,000 in favour of ‘Agragamee Agharia Society, Odisha’ for construction of a bhawan and Rs 5,06,00,000 for construction of ‘Gond Bhawan’ in Bhubaneswar have also been approved in the cabinet.
