After a brief lull, the process for electing the new Odisha BJP state president has officially resumed.
According to BJP's election officer Jatin Mohanty, the official notification for the election will be released on July 6.
Nominations will be accepted on July 7, and voting for the post of State President will be held on July 8. The party is gearing up for a smooth and transparent election process to select its new state leadership.
Sources suggest that several key contenders have already started mobilising their base for the election. However, the current state BJP president, Manmohan Samal, is leading the race for the coveted post because of his stronghold in the grassroots. It is also discussed within the party circle that Samal had a great role in the formation of the BJP government in the state.
The BJP’s state leadership race has gained renewed attention as internal discussions intensified following the earlier suspension of the process.
