Alleging misbehaviour by the IIC, MLA Mohan Majhi staged a sit-in in front of the Keonjhar Police Station on Thursday.

The Keonjhar legislator said that people from Raisuan and Gopinathpur panchayats were upset over the drinking water crisis and blocked the NH-20 on Wednesday.

Majhi added that the agitating people requested him to come to the place to sort out their issue. They also told the legislator to call the officials of the RWSS.

“I came from Keonjhar and reached the agitation site. On reaching the place, I assured the people that I would inform the matter to the executive engineer of the RWSS. Later the road blockade was removed,” he said.

Subsequently, the IIC Trinath Sethi called the people to the police station for a discussion on the issue.

“As people went to the police station, they also took me there. There, the IIC misbehaved with me and asked me the reason for coming to the police station when the MCC was in force. The IIC also asked me to ‘get out’ of the place and warned of action,” Majhi alleged, saying that the IIC has been working for the BJD.

The legislator said that he had apprised the SP, the Collector and the BJP MP candidate of the incident at the police station.

The MLA and the local residents staged a dharna in front of the police station, demanding action against the IIC.
However, no comments of the IIC were received.
