The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday demanded that the probe into the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) exam question paper leak be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Speaking to the reporters, Odisha BJP Chief Manmohan Samal said, “I demand the Odisha government to hand over the probe to the CBI. If the State government has moral courage and wants to come clean then the government should hand over the probe to the CBI.”

“If not, then we will have to think of alternative ways. But I think, as this is a matter of innocent job aspirants and their future, the government should make the move and ask for a CBI inquiry into the matter without any delay,” he said.

The Balasore Police on Thursday claimed to have solved the OSSC question paper leak case and revealed that the leak happened from a printing press outside Odisha.

As per reports, the Balasore Police on Thursday arrested eight more persons including the mastermind behind the leak of the question paper of the OSSC JE (Civil) Main Written Examination. All the accused have been arrested from Bihar while the mastermind in the case is a Bihar government employee.

With this, the total number of arrests reached 17.

It is pertinent to mention here that Balasore SP, Sagarika Nath had earlier ruled out the involvement of OSSC employees in the question paper leak.
