Even as the first day of the first session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly began on a stormy note with opposition parties, BJD and Congress members staging a walkout, the address of Governor Raghubar Das highlighted the state government’s plan for the state and the people in the coming days.
In his address, Governor Raghubar Das assured that the Odisha government will keep Odia Asmita at its focal point and is committed to providing unbiased governance.
For the Odisha government, focus will be given on women empowerment, jobs for youths and development of farmers in the state, said the Odisha Governor adding that the state government hopes to make the state developed by 2036.
- To ensure economic growth and promote job creation, the Odisha government has set a target to create 3.5 lakh jobs by 2029.
- The Odisha government will ensure filling up the 1.5 lakh vacant government posts.
- 65000 government posts will be filled up in 2 years.
- 3000 new doctors will be appointed across the state.
- Odisha will be malaria free by 2030.
- There will be a new Sports Policy. Academy and Nurseries will be set up for the training of the sportspersons.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be used in government schools in Odisha.
- Malnourishment will be reduced by 2027.
- Forestation initiative will be taken up in 480 kms to protect coastal areas from the impact of cyclones.
- Green Industrial Policy will be implemented in Odisha. Government to provide subsidy for four and six wheeler vehicles.
- 10 irrigation projects in Bolangiri, Kalahandi, Bargarh and Nuapada will be completed.
- Odisha to be the millets hub in India.
- Odisha government to focus on skill development and apprenticeship opportunities for the youths.
- Odisha government to convert Cuttack and Bhubaneswar into world class Twin City apart from coming up with multi-mode transport system.
- Odisha to encourage use of plastic waste in road construction and solid waste management policy will be streamlined.
- Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana will be implemented in Odisha to provide quality health services.
